About SEO

SEO techniques are managed in 2 different ways:

On-page SEO
  • On-page SEO: these are the measures which can be implemented directly when designing a website - in the contents (ie quality information and relevant keywords in appropriate places) and in using accurate coding based on the current standards.
  • Off-page SEO: these are the measures used by SEO specialists. It relies on an extensive (usually on-going) analysis of your keywords in relation to those used by your competitors and focuses on SEO strategies such as the creation of links to your website in order to get search engines to give it a higher ranking position.

On-page SEO

On-page SEO is an integral part of our website designs - it is second-nature to us. However, we do keep up-to-date with the latest findings from SEO experts as criteria often change slightly following each Google major update!

In addition, we create a Google sitemap for each website we design to make things easier for search engines and ensure our websites are successfully indexed by Google.

Off-page SEO

Effective off-page SEO is time-consuming and requires specialist software and careful analysis based on an expert understanding of what is currently 'rewarded' by Google.

Although we have trained in off-page SEO, we do not currently offer this service ourselves. We prefer to do one job well (web design) rather than having to possibly compromise through lack of time to do two jobs... less well!

However, if this service is of interest to you, we can make some recommendations. One word of caution: beware of SEO companies offering quick results at low costs - at best, these results are likely to be short-lived, at worst, it could get your website banned from Google's index...

The general idea is that Google is aiming to encourage 'quality' websites, ie websites which you and I hope to find quickly to answer our question or problem when we are searching the web:

  • reliable information - "content is king!"
  • quality links - links to websites offering relevant, related and authoritative information
  • websites which don't take a long time to load
  • 'good' English - correct grammar and spelling
  • clear, logical navigation/menus and no broken links
